Practice Task 2

November - December 2019

Low key

You cannot see the model too well in the photo as there is minimal lighting, excluding a somewhat vertical, dim blue light in the centre. Where this lighting is, is the only part where you can see the model. You cannot see the model's face too well, however the model's face isn't a complete silhouette as you can see make out their nose & glasses.

High key

The lighting is high key. You can see the shadow of the model behind them. You can see the model easily & the model is in focus completely.

Side Lighting

This photo was taken in the studio where a light was placed either side of the model. This was in order to alleviate any shadows surrounding the project

Overexposed

This photo was poorly done because the shutter speed was set too slow. He is still overexposed, however, as there wasn't much light in the area where that picture was taken.

Shallow depth of field

This & the pair shallow depth of field photo were taken at the same time. The two models looked over a set of stairs, on separate floors, with the photographer taking the picture on the bottom floor. The person on the second floor is in focus, however the person on the third floor is not in focus

Deep Exposure

The model is in focus, but the rest of the shot isn't in focus

Emphasis sense of action

The models were moving whilst the shot was being taken. They are more or less in focus, but not entirely.

Magazine

The photo was taken in portrait & similar sizing to a magazine so as to be a good representation of a magazine, The model's face is in focus rather than their entire body, as that is the main focus of the image. However, the body is still somewhat in focus. The lighting is dim to give a minimal aesthetic, however there is still two coloured lights used so as to stand out a bit more.

Shallow Depth of Field

This & the single person shallow depth of field photo were taken at the same time. The two models looked over a set of stairs, on separate floors, with the photographer taking the picture on the bottom floor. The person on the second floor is in focus, however the person on the third floor is not in focus

Deep Focus

The shutter speed on the camera was reduced so that there was approximately a 5 second interval before the photo was taken, after the button was pressed. This allowed the models to use their phone torches, & spin them about randomly, so as to allow the camera to focus on the white lines from the flash rather than the models.

Long Exposure

The photo was taken from three separate floors, with the models looking over a stair case. Both models are on separate floors, with the photographer being on the floor below them both. The model in the foreground is not in focus, however the model in the background is.

Recreation

The recreation was of an album cover, "The Very Best of Doors". The models are both topless & wearing chains. They are also in a similar pose  with their arm extended, doing a hand gesture. They are both using direct mode of address. However, the model for the recreation isn't turning slightly from the camera, whereas the original is. Furthermore, the lighting is on the wrong side of the photo.
